Penny, LVT

       Penny has been with JIVH for over 30 years and is one of our fabulous Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs). Penny was born in New York, but has called Charleston, SC home since the age of 2.  She attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College to earn her Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology. Her 30 years of experience allows puts all of us at ease that our loved ones are in her hands.

       Penny wears many hats at JIVH with one of her primary rolls being lead surgery technician, caring for her patients' every need intra and post-operatively.  She is proud of the way our entire team strives to provide the absolute best of care for each and every patient and client.  After years of experience, she still says the best thing about her job is seeing a pet going home well after coming in for being sick or hurt. She hopes our clients know how much we care for their pets and that we truly treat each of them like our own.

       When Penny is not caring for your family members at JIVH, she can be found spending time watching her kids, Ben and Sarah, play sports and watching baseball with her husband, Kelly. Her family also includes a beautiful yellow lab, Maelee, and a beautiful cat named Lil Cricket.

Lindsey 

    Lindsey has been making us a better hospital for the past for 14 years! Lindsey started her career in the veterinary field with her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Clemsom University in 2002 (Go Tigers!).  She has a passion for watching both owners and pets grow together and to forever practice the best veterinary care that JIVH can provide. Her goal is that everyone leaves with a better understanding of the importance of preventive veterinary medicine in a friendly and compassionate environment. She wants current and future clients to know that their pet is being cared for by a passionate and competent team that truly does "treat pets like family".

            Outside of work, Lindsey has a close-knit group of friends who do everything from concerts and dinner to road trips and of course, watching Clemson athletics. She also has an obsession with watching the Olympic games.  She is a slave to her cat Fido, who insists on playing fetch, beach volleyball and chasing the infernal red dot

Nichole

Nichole joined our JIVH team in August 2018, but she has been working in the veterinary field since September 2013 (and knew she wanted to work with animals at a very young age) .  Nichole has an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Trident Technical College, graduating from the Veterinary Technician Program.  

Nichole is originally from Florida but has called South Carolina home for most of her life. When she is not at the clinic she is at home with her six year old son James and her nine month old puppy Karoline, who both keep her pretty busy!

Cassandra, LVT

     Cassandra joined us in Dec of 2019. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the College of Charleston, but in 2018 decided to return to school to pursue her passion for animals and as of 2020, obtained her degree in veterinary technology. 

     Cassandra is originally from West Virginia, where she grew up around many animals, large and small. Presently she has four cats, Blaze, Buffy, Zoot and Pippen. She has also shared her home with a variety of animals over the years, including dogs, turtles, rabbits and  ferrets. 

When not at work or in school, she enjoys all things fantasy and horror related, so can often be found just reading or watching movies at home with her feline friends.  She also loves to travel and visit new places, preferably off the beaten path. One of favorite hobbies is cooking, and she also enjoys supporting the local art and live music scene.

Karly

    Karly joined the JIVH family in Spring 2020 and hails from Tinton falls New Jersey.  She  moved to South Carolina in 2015 to Myrtle beach and graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a bachelors of science in Psychology.

   Karly grew up in a house with a lot of animals from dogs, snakes, turtles, geckos, birds, and fish.  Karly has an Australian Shepherd named Ace and two catahoula leopard dogs named Zander and Loki.  She will be attending Trident Tech in the fall to obtain her degree in veterinary technology.  On her days off, Karly likes to take her dogs on trail hikes, hang out with friends, and go to the gym. 

Alexis

    Alexis joined the JIVH team in January 2020 but has been in the Charleston area since 2013. She attended Winthrop University from 2017-2019 but decided to leave to pursue a career in the veterinary field. Alexis is currently working on obtaining her LVT once she finishes school. 

    Alexis has always had a passion for animals. She especially loves her dog Roscoe.  She grew up around animals ranging from dogs to reptiles. When Alexis is not at work; she can either be found on some form of water or hanging out with friends/family. She also loves to take Roscoe to the dog park to make new fur friends. 

Mallory

   Mallory joined the JIVH team in early 2020. She had just moved back from the mountain town of Boone, NC, but is originally from Charleston.  

    Mallory grew up with a fervent interest in the sciences, and obtained a Bachelor’s in Biology from Winthrop University in 2018. She has one cat named Mhysa, but would like to add many more pets to her family in the near future. During her time off, Mallory enjoys music and going to concerts, hitting the gym, and hiking around the lowcountry.
